There are a number of reasons to file a tax return. The first should be fairly obvious. You have to file a valid return or you could face fines and prosecution. This isn’t something anyone wants. There are other reasons to avoid dodging the system though. If you don’t file a tax return, then you will never see any of your refund.
Now that we’ve set that issue straight, you should understand your tax filing options. You could choose to just take all your papers to a major chain and shell out a bunch of cash to have a tax accountant file the return for you. There are plenty of tax services that pop up before April 15th, so I wouldn’t worry about finding one. You should be thinking about more effective ways to file your tax return.
One option you should definitely consider is online tax filing. This can be conducted for free through a number of available tax programs. You just answer some questions to fill out the form and submit it electronically once you’re done. It’s a neat and efficient process that should at least gain some consideration. It’s just about as good as any mainstream tax service.
