I just went to visit some gardens and they were really lovely and inspiring. Obviously I could not do anything to the standard of a stately home garden but it is nice to come back with ideas that you can apply to your own small garden at home. The first thing that I really liked, were the raised gardens. I think that it is nice to be able to see the flowers on a higher level, so that you can really appreciate them and also smell them better. It is nice to have a bench near them so that they are eye level when you are resting in the garden. Another thing that I really liked was the landscape borders but probably something, that I would not have the time to copy because I do not have a lot of time for weeding. I also have the children’s sandboxes to accommodate somewhere in the garden and would not have room for borders as well. We do not have much space in the garden and so I need to leave some room for the children to play as well and so I think that I will leave the lawn as it is and that should give them ample room to ride their bikes and run around as well as play football.
