The CD and DVD technologies we enjoy today quickly made other audio and video technologies obsolete. Private individuals and businesses of all sizes use CDs and DVDs routinely and often need to make copies of these discs. These copies then need to be labeled to allow one to know what is on the discs. Labeling CDs and DVDs by hand is not efficient nor does it look professional.
Today there are quick and easy solutions for labeling CDs and DVDs. There are actually several methods used for printing discs but generally speaking, if you need a small number of discs printed, a thermal CD printer is the ideal type of printer to use. A thermal printer works to adhere labels quickly and at a low cost. Thermal printers are easy to use and offers fast drying printing that is economical.
CDs can also be labeled using lightscribe CD printing. This type of labeling requires that special discs be used as well as a compatible disc writer. In this process, the label or images desired are engraved into the surface of the disc itself. It is also possible to lightscribe DVD surfaces as well. The results are professional and much preferred over having to hand write or attach stickers to the the DVDs and CDs which can unbalance the discs.
